T: We happened to be in West Vancouver after picking up D from the ferry terminal and so decided to drop in and see if the pie was worth all the hype. The result?

This is easily the best pie that I have ever had. End of story.

Best crust, best filling. The crust is thick but not dense; it’s light and flaky; it’s salty but not too salty – it’s buttery but not oily – it’s delicious but doesn’t overwhelm the filling. The filling – not even a ‘fake apple’ hint to it – big (but not too big) chunks of apple – not overly sweet, not overly sour. The real vanilla bean ice cream to make it all a la mode? Perfect too.

Sorry to be so effusive, but when a place does food right, they just do it right. This place just plain old does it right. Get your pie fresh, eat it while you’re there – and go home smiling.
