Small, busy, noisy with a definite vibe. Felt is was more a place for snacks and drinks (alcoholic) with friends rather than our party of 5 with 2 babies. They yell all your orders to the kitchen which is literally steps away – interesting in a disconcerting kind of way. The staff is friendly and one of the chefs even came out to wander the room (and encourage more beer drinking at least at our table – sadly it was a no go with the babes in tow). The duck salad was tasty and the duck meat nicely done although it does take 30 minutes to prepare. Other hits were the yaki udon (recommended by the waitress), ebi may, okonomi (?spelling, anyways it’s the pancake), pork cheeks. Everything is tasty and servings are reasonable. The pork belly was mostly fat but tasty (of course because of the fat). Dinner for 5 with tip and one large beer and tea was about $100 – that being said , we definitely had room for a blizzard after the meal. Overall, we did prefer Gyoza King for the food. Reservations recommended.
