Pho 24 Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

February 14th, 2008 · No Comments

Pho 24 is a popular chain of pho restaurants which we saw scattered around town. It was also listed in the Lonely Planet as one of the top pho places around. I know, I know, why trust the Lonely Planet? – I guess because it is a good starting point when you don’t know a city and generally their suggestions offer at least average food although often when you get to the restaurant it is filled with other people conspicuously carrying the guidebook and sometimes the quality of food is not as described – a little less tasty and often a little more expensive. Pho 24 is a decent pho place. The menus are in English with some pictures and the place is clean and air-conditioned. The pho is pretty decent although slightly pricier than other similar institutions. The house special cold tofu drink – not to my taste – too sweet. Overall – above average pho that you can get in North America but nothing special compared to the rest of the pho in Vietnam.
