This is the best pie in town. In fact, we have cut hikes short on Cypress Mountain, just to get in some quality Savary Island pie time. It is the crust that really makes the pie. The crust is thick but not too fatty, not too salty – it just melts in your mouth. Its filling – obviously a trade secret but whatever apples and other deliciousness they put in there – it’s fantastic. Apparently the other pies are good as well, but when you’ve got perfection, why try harder?

Although we go for the pie, the other food is also good. One friend swears by the grilled cheese and soup. The grilled cheese consists of 3 types of cheese is gooey cheesiness sandwiched in crispy buttered fresh-baked bread.

This cute but crowded local cafe is definitely worth a visit (even a trip) just for the pie. Just beware that seats can sometimes be hard to find. Although the pies are also sold at Whole Foods, I always say you should go to the source for the best.

Spot on, the pies are amazing.

I wonder if they put out a recipe book?
