The Winter Farmers Market – Wise Hall Vancouver, BC

April 12th, 2008 · No Comments

One of the first beautiful sunny days on a spring weekend day and a great day to visit the market which was partly indoors in the Hall as well as outdoors. We went to pick up our bread order from Rise Artisan Bakery – chocolate pear cranberry loaf, raisin walnut ginger strusal and 3 cheese with roasted garlic. When we got to the table we just had to try the chocolate chili cookies and the owner also threw in samples of the Diva cookie and the brownie topped with caramel. All delicious but our favorites were the Diva cookie (not just for the name but for the oatmealy fruity chocolatey goodness) and the chocolate chili cookies which actually had a nice smokey chili flavor to the chocolate (ancho chili?). It looks like they run out of product relatively early so go early or pre-order.

There was lots of organic and local foods although what I really want to try next time is the crepe truck with the constant line-up and piles of people sprawled on the lawn eating the crepes….
