Very popular filipino bakery and casual eatery just opened a new spot on Main Street. The polvoron is like shortbread but not as sweet or rich (not sure how much butter they use or if they even use butter) although it does come in a variety of flavours attractively wrapped in bright colors. Best is the banana wrapped in deep-fried goodness covered with honey/caramel Рgo early as these sell out fast. Aside from being a bakery, this small spot also has a few talbes and serves hot food. As for menu items Рalthough I see a lot of actual filipino people eating here Рmaybe I am just not a fan of filipino food. At the suggestion of the server, we tried the popular fresh lumpia (like a fresh non-deep fried vegetarian egg-roll) which would have been okay if it had not been covered it some sort of sweet brown sauce, and the Pancit Palabok (White fine noodles topped with palabok sauce and saut̩ed pork, vegetables, spices, and garnished with green onions, boiled eggs, flakes of smoked fish (tinapa), and ground chicharon (fried pork rind)) was tasty enough but the noodles were an odd texture. The goldilocks spaghetti was also recommended but we did not partake. A second dessert we tried was the stick of glutinous rice balls covered in honey/caramel Рsimilar to the banana dessert but the banana one was way better.

Overall, I would stick to the baked goods but the filipino food is at least interesting to try although not really to my taste (although obviously quite delicious to the many filipinos who frequent the establishment).
