Cascade Room and Quiz Night

Definitely a toss-up between who has the best mixed drinks in town: Chambar vs. The Cascade Room. Any place with a French 75 on the menu obviously has an appreciation for the Art of Mixing Drinks (it’s a book, look it up) and having been to this bar about 4-5 times, I can say it has never disappointed. These guys know their mixology and are one of the few places in town that elevate the cocktail into that sublime thing we actually dream about on Friday afternoons (well, okay, on Monday mornings too).

Monday night is Quiz night at the Cascade Room – and for $2/person (which goes to charity)- you can enter a team of up to 4 people in the quiz contest. There are 3 rounds and each round is marked by one of the other teams. The prize was a bottle of wine that night but I think the glory is what it is all about. Interesting cocktails list with delicious drinks most of which are $8-10. The food is also pretty good and reasonably priced. Loved the polenta fries. The moroccan lamb pizza was a good size with a generous amount of topping but lacked seasoning and was slightly greasy. Judging by the tables around us – most people come for drinks, fries and pizza (the ?spinach one looked popular – may try it next time). Will definitely go back – even for just a chance of glory.
