This was a great, very interesting, inexpensive meal in a small, quaint, charming fish restaurant with excellent service. And if I had a friend in town who wanted an relatively inexpensive but still semi-formal lunch in the 7th, I would definitely consider taking them here.

The food was definitely interesting – a squid ink risotto, some small fried cabbage rolls, a delicate crab salad, a plate of fish in chorizo sauce – the kind of place that makes your food interesting with complimentary combinations of flavours and interesting platings – not your typical sole meuniere.

So – a quick review for a relatively quick, entirely pleasant lunch. It has a Michelin Star and its innovative, delicious food, warm atmosphere and great service all deserve it. Would go again.

I went to Les Fables de la Fontaine for dinner this evening and I agree with the comments posted above. We did the Chef’s Tasting Menu and not only received some of the most beautifully yet deliciously prepared foods – it was plentiful and very much worth the price we paid. I have yet to find a restaurant in Paris that offers you as much food at such a high quality for a delightful price. Definitely recommend the dining experience for anyone visiting in the area.
