Ideal Coffee – Toronto, Kensington Market

May 29th, 2009 · No Comments

A popular local Kensington coffee shop just off one of the busy streets. – but it is definitely worth the short stroll. There is no real signage except for the coffee cup with a galaxy-like symbol above the door.

The beans are roasted in house and the baristas rigorously trained before they serve actual customers. No semi-automated espresso a la Starbucks. Popular with the locals – grab a great cup of coffee or espresso and take a seat in one of the mish mash of chairs found inside or at one of the benches or tables outside. If you want, experience a blast from the past by taking a seat and playing space invaders at one of the old consoles. Take your time – kick up your feet – read a book – do some work – or just watch the the interesting characters who populate Kensington market. There are two other locations in Toronto – on Ossington and Queen Street. You can also buy beans from them.
