Green Lettuce Chinese Restaurant is chinese food indian-style. Seriously – this is chinese food, the way people in India like it – and – yup, we walked into the restaurant and there was an Indian family enjoying some asian dishes. I would describe it as chinese food with some Indian spices – so a little more spicy and a little more curry than your regular old chinese food.

Unlike some chinese restaurants, there are many vegetarian options available. We tried the hot chili vegetable dumplings with garlic, dai ching prawns, manchurian style chicken chow mein and fried green beans. Nothing stood out but it wasn’t bad either. Aside from the hint of indian flavours in the background – it didn’t seem that much different from other chinese restaurants.

Although located on a not-so-nice strip of the Kingsway, the restaurant is relatively nice inside. The service is also fast and friendly. A good option if you feel like mixing up your asian food options or eating with a vegetarian who likes spicy.
