Sunday am out for Dim Sum with family. Jade Dynasty was recommended because Dim Sum before 11am (at least on the weekends) is 20% off, and family members had been here many times before with good results.

We made a reservation (pretty much mandatory for weekends), and our table was ready on time. With typical Dim Sum weekend efficiency, we had menus, tea, and food almost immediately. Service was perfunctory and didn’t miss anything on our order. The restaurant was clean (as were the washrooms), well-lit, and it was a relatively quiet morning due to the parade going on outside.

The food was pretty much standard dim sum fare – better than many, but not the best that we’ve had, but considering the price, it was a great deal. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and there wasn’t a bad dish in the bunch. I’d like to elaborate more, but for those people who have eaten a lot of dim sum, “standard dim sum fare” will mean something to them that is hard to put into words. Bottom line: it’s good food, at good prices.

I’d come here any time for dim sum, but apparently it can get really, really busy so make those reservations, show up early to get the 20% discount, and enjoy the time here with family, friends, and go for a stroll in Chinatown when you’re done.
