This is the casual sister eatery adjacent and connected to the high-end Gustavino restaurant. The bonus is that it is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. The setting is very casual, just a few tables surrounded by shelves of wine, all of which are for sale. In fact, from Monday to Friday, wine tastings are held from 4-7pm with each tasting approximately 2-3 Euros including bread, cheese, and water.
The food is simple – bruschetta, salads, soups , rice dishes and a smattering of pasta and meat dishes. You can also choose from large or small plates of a selection of charcuterie and cheeses. Most dishes are fro m 4-7 euros. I thought my riboletta (vegetable and bread soup) was more like a tasty mash than a soup since there no liquid to speak of in the dish.
The good: Open daily for lunch and dinner, casual, inexpensive, many wines by the glass which are inexpensive, English menu
The bad: At 1 pm they had run out of a couple of dishes
The verdict: Good for a casual lunch if you are in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get here
