Casa Lalla Restaurant/Riad – Marrakech, Morocco

Casa Lalla - Marrakech

The restaurant is set in the beautiful central courtyard of the high-end Casa Lalla Riad. Apparently, this place was set up by a Michelin-starred chef who was tired of the grind. The setting and service is excellent. The food was above average but nothing special and disappointing for my expectations of a Michelin-starred chef. In fact, the dish I liked the best was the crispy scalloped potato accompaniment that came with the fish.

That being said, if you are looking for a break from the hustle and bustle of nighttime Marakech and want to hide a way for a a few moments in a more European style retreat then this is the place for you. There is even a reasonable selection of wine and aperitifs. This would be a nice place to enjoy a romantic dinner. If you have a chance, enjoy your tea or after dinner drink up on the rooftop and enjoy a fantastic view of the city. If you can afford it, I am sure the stay at the riad would not lack in any comforts or amenitites.
