Eleven Madison Park - New York

Since EMP received their 4 stars from the NY times, reservations can be tight so try to book well in advance. The $28 for the lunch prix fixe is a steal for excellent service with great food in a beautiful high-ceilinged room.

I started with the spaetzle with the most tender rabbit I have ever had – I almost thought it was tuna it just melted in my mouth. This was followed by a perfect rectangle of pork confit topped with a crispy skin layer. My companion, AC, had ricotta gnocchi followed by a delicious bouillabaisse. The 2 dishes were more than filling enough to satisfy us but for another $15 you can add an extra appetizer or $20 can add an extra main. The next time I would like to try the organic chicken for two – it looked delectable as it was being presented to one of the tables nearby. You pick dessert from a cart wheeled to your table and we decided to share a beautiful fig and pistachio tart although the lemon tart also looked appetizing.
