For Vancouver Visitors – Best Places to Eat

February 11th, 2010 · No Comments

Food is an integral and important part of my travels. In fact, if a place does not have good food, I strongly think about whether I want to go there and if there are other redeeming factors to the city/country in question. Thankfully, if you do look hard enough, usually you can find some decent […]

Dae Bak Bon Ga – Vancouver

February 10th, 2010 · No Comments

This Korean restaurant on Robson Street located above the main street level would be easy to pass by. However, people in the know, think this is a pretty good Korean place. When you walk into the restaurant, despite the fan hoods above the tables, there is still a bit of smoky bbq hanging in the […]

Refuel Neighbourhood Restaurant and Bar – Vancouver, Kitsilano

February 10th, 2010 · No Comments

Piggy puffs – that was the first thing that caught my eye on the menu at Refuel and so I made my mind up to go there. We have been fans of Chef Belcham from the beginning. We loved Fuel when it first opened but our recent experiences had been more disappointing. With the revamp […]

Go Thai Restaurant – New Westminster

February 10th, 2010 · No Comments

Who knew that New Westminster would have an authentic thai place with a thai owner/chef in the middle of all the mediocre food?

Sawasdee Thai Restaurant – Vancouver, Main Street

February 9th, 2010 · 1 Comment

This is one of the best places I have eaten Thai food in Vancouver. The food is more authentic than most of the ubiquitous and relatively forgettable thai restaurants around town. Not only does that mean that the food is tastier, but if you ask for medium hot – it really is medium hot and […]

Provence Marinaside – Vancouver, Yaletown

February 8th, 2010 · No Comments

If you are strolling along the seawall, Provence Marinaside is a good place to stop for a bite to eat. If it is nice outside, one of the patio tables is a great place to eat, drink and people watch or be watched. Although it can be crowded, so be prepared to wait if you […]

Tropika at Aberdeen – Vancouver

February 7th, 2010 · No Comments

We decided to use one of those entertainment book coupons for a free entree at the Tropika in Aberdeen Mall for lunch. The place is relatively nice and modern inside and the service is fast – since there were few tables occupied during this weekday lunchtime. Overall, the food was below average except for the […]

Dragon Ball Tea House – Vancouver

February 5th, 2010 · No Comments

This bubble tea house is supposed to have some of the best tapioca balls around and once we tried it, we would agree. There are a huge variety of flavours but I personally prefer mango or some combination of mango – such as mango/lychee, mango/pineapple – with slush and tapioca balls.

Splitz Grill – Whistler

February 4th, 2010 · No Comments

Apologies for the quality of the photos, we only had our camera phone on us at the time… There doesn’t seem to be a lot of eating options that aren’t expensive and/or mediocre in Whistler – with dining options mainly catered towards tourists.

Choon Ha Choo Dong – Vancouver

February 4th, 2010 · No Comments

Our personal korean food connection, brought us to this place on Broadway which I am sure that I have walked by too many times to count without even noticing. Granted it is on the second floor of the building and it is quite unobstrusive. A bonus is that there is free parking on the roof.Although […]
